V Asian Games

Vibrant capital of Thailand , Bangkok hosted V Asiad. The region was in turmoil due to Vietnam War with no end in sight, agitated relationship between China and Taiwan , and smell of perilous air in Korean Peninsula . Cambodia tried to challenge the Asian Games Movement by organizing "The Games of New Emerging Forces (GANEFO)" just before 5th Asiad. However, despite various pre-games concerns, with enthusiasm of sports loving Thais and generous efforts of Asian Games Federation (AGF) and the Local Organizing Committee, the Games were concluded with great success. Also, Cultural Program was inaugurated with participation from Japan, Korea , Malaysia and Thailand .
