2nd Islamic Countries Women Games

The 2nd Islamic Countries Women Sports Games held in Tehran (Iran) in December, 1997. 748 athletes in 12 different sports took part in the second edition of the Games from such countries as Iran, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Azerbaigjan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Jordan, Bosnia (Herjegovina), Bangladesh, Fiji, Gabon, Maldives, Lebanan, Niger, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Afghanistan.

A 98-member Pakistani contingent participated in 12 events including athletics, badminton, basketball, karate, gymnastics, handball, chess, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.
