Sports Minister visited Sports Complex, Mardan
Islamabad, 25th March, 2011: Engr.Shaukat Ullah, Federal Minister for Sports and SAFRON visited the Sports Complex, Mardan and received a briefing about the development work in the Complex.
The Minister was informed that the Complex spread over an area of 226 kanals and has Football, Hockey and Cricket grounds along with two Basketball courts, two Volleyball courts, a Squash court and an Athletic track. Construction of a Swimming pool and laying of a synthetic hockey turf in the Complex has now been proposed for inclusion in the next year annual development plan of the provincial government for an estimated cost of Rs.100 million.
Mr. Shaukat Ullah in his address to the management of Mardan Sports Complex and the officials of Pakistan Sports Board instructed the authorities to speed up the construction and upgradation work and said that he would take regular briefings about the progress of the development work. He said that the land of KP is very fertile in producing quality sportspersons and there is an urgent need to tap the upcoming talent by providing better sports facilities. He resolved his mission to extricate extremism from the society by bringing the youth back to play grounds.
