Missing three Pakistanis climbers



Islamabad: September 23, 2015: Mian Riaz Husain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination and Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhary, Secretary, Ministry of IPC held a meeting with the families of missing three Pakistanis climbers namely M/s Imran Junaidi, Usman Tariq and Khuram Shahzad on 23rd September, 2015 at 1100 hours at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The Minister for IPC assured them to provide every help and assistance to search the missing climbers.

M/s Hassan Sadpara, Said Tariq Siddique and Col Abdul Jabbar Bhatti briefed about the efforts made by the Alpine Club of Pakistan for search and rescue of the missing climbers. Owing to bad weather, danger of avalanche and crevices, the rescue experts explained that further search would be dangerous and risky for the rescue team members. However, they shall continue their efforts if weather permit them.

The Secretary, Ministry of IPC emphasized that we will also approach government of Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and Ministry of Interior to speed up the efforts to trace the missing climbers.

Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board, Mr. Khalid Mahmud Mirza, Joint Secretary (Sports), President, Col (R) Manzoor Ahmed and Honorary Secretary Mr. Abu Zafar Sadiq, Alpine Club of Pakistan were also present on the occasion.    

The Minister for IPC cautioned to all youth attempting to climb mountains to undergo the mountaineering training should intimate their plans to Alpine Club of Pakistan for technical advice and coordination before venturing into any climbing activity.
