ELECTIONS OF CHESS FEDERATION OF PAKISTAN


Islamabad: June 20, 2015: A writ petition No. 1591 of 2015 was filed against Pakistan Sports Board in the Islamabad High Court, Islamabad. The writ petition was disposed of in terms of the written statement by the Secretary, Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination/ Vice President, Pakistan Sports Board. Consequent upon, the disposal of the said writ petition by the Islamabad High Court Islamabad, the Secretary, Ministry of IPC appointed Mr. Muhammad Irfanullah Khan Advocate High Court as Election Commissioner and constituted a committee comprising of Syed Habib Shah, Deputy Director General (Technical) & Mr. Muhammad Azam Dar, Director, National Federations, Pakistan Sports Board to assist the Election Commissioner in carrying out the elections of Pakistan Chess Federation in a fair, free & transparent manner in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Chess Federation of Pakistan and National Sports Policy 2005 upheld by the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Committee met under the chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Irfanullah Khan today in the office of Pakistan Sports Board at 1700 hours and discussed the methodology and modalities of the elections to be carried out in line with the Constitution of Chess Federation of Pakistan and National Sports Policy 2005. The committee decided that programme of the elections shall be announced on Monday, 22nd June, 2015..
