PSB Inter-Provincial Sports Tournaments during the financial year 2015-16. 


Islamabad: October 20, 2015: To chalk out the schedule of PSB Inter-Provincial Sports Tournaments during the financial year 2015-16, a meeting of the Provincial Sports Boards including AJK, FATA, Gilgit-Balitistam and Islamabad were held under the chairmanship of Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board in the Committee Room of PSB. All the Directors of the Boards and PSB officers attended the meeting.

The Chairman after welcoming the participants stated that Inter-Provincial Sports Tournament  hold a special significance as these tournaments help in diverting the attentions of our youth towards healthier activities, to promote harmony and help inculcating the discipline among the youth. Pakistan Sports Board is sponsoring these tournaments regularly. Another purpose of these tournaments is to hunt talented players annually. It is dire need of the time to involve our youth in positive and healthier activities to fight against the terrorism wave in the country. While participating in these tournaments our motto should not be winning the tournament rather we must promote our youth sportspersons who after grooming, will avail the opportunities to get birth in national side.

After detailed discussion the house deiced to organize seven U-16 Girls and nine U-17 boys tournaments during the current financial year as per details give below:-

It is pertinent to add here that Kabaddi event have been included first time in the programme. KPK Sports Board assured that they will make foolproof security arrangements during the competitions at Bannu. To update the knowledge of the officials regarding rules and regulations of the circle kabaddi, PSB will organize refresher course at Pakistan Sports Complex from 26-27 November, 2015. Two representatives of Boards will participate.
