The Federal Minister for Sports, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Secretary Sports Aziz Ahmed Bilour and DG PSB Amir Hamza Gillani felicitate the Pakistani Skiers over the remarkable performance in the South Asian Federation Winter Games held in Dehradun and Auli, India.
In a message to the president of the federation, the Minister, Secretary and DG PSB said “our players showed a winning attitude and a self belief which has proved to be instrumental in their success by bagging gold, silver and bronze in the final phase of the games.”
Mr Jakhrani said that the Skiing is fast emerging game in the country. The victories in the SAF Winter Games will boost the confidence of the players which augurs well for the sports in Pakistan in general.
Pakistan’s Isra Wali has won gold in the Women’s 1200 meters Alpine Giant Slalom. She finished the event by clocking 2.51/93 seconds, whereas Amina Wali won silver by clocking 2.52/2 seconds in the same event.
By the closing of the games, Pakistan has finished second in the games after India that finished first in the games.
Mr Jakhrani said that the medals in games will be a great impetus for the revival of sports activities in the country. These wins have boosted the morale of the whole nation and brought them joy after recent Asian Games. I pray and hope that in the future, our players will continue to replicate these performances and bring laurels to the country.
