Condolence Message

Islamabad: 16th June, 2011: Syed Abrar Hussain Shah, Director, PSB Coaching Centre, Quetta was attacked by some unknown terrorists in his office today. He received bullets in his head and was taken to CMH Quetta in a critical condition where he expired. The deceased left behind wife, daughter and son to mourn his death.

He was former Olympian, Asian Gold Medalist in Boxing. He won 11-Gold, 6-Silver and 5 Bronze medals at National and International level. Owing to his meritorious services, he was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz Civil on 23rd March 1990. His funeral will be held today at 1800 hours at Quetta. His death is a great loss for Pakistan Sports especially boxing.

Federal Minister for Sports, Engg. Shaukat Ullah, Federal Secretary Sports, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Soomro, Syed Amir Hamza Gilani, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board, all officers and staff of the Pakistan Sports Board were shocked to hear his sad demise untimely. All employees offered sorrows and condolences to the bereaved family. They prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant the bereaved family courage to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. Ameen.
