Steering Committee Meeting for Quaid-i-Azam Inter Provincial Games - 2016
Islamabad: 15th March, 2016: Steering Committee Meeting was held at the Committee Room of Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad today, on 15th March, 2016 at 1100 hours under the chairmanship of Mian Riaz Husain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination.
The chair welcomed the participants and informed the basic purpose of holding the Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games to create harmony among different segments of the society which would ultimately strengthen national cohesion and integration. The Chair emphasized to all the representatives that the elected and democratic government decided to hold Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games as mega event at Federal level and all the Ministries / departments should ensure full cooperation and support to make this event successful.
The representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Television (PTV), Radio Pakistan, Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Lok Virsa, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and representatives of Provincial Governments attended the meeting.
The eight point agenda was discussed threadbare in the meeting. Main issue were deliberated upon and the dates of Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games, Security arrangements, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, awareness campaign and conduct of the games.
The dates of Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games have been rescheduled and the new dates are 5th to 8th April, 2016 instead of 4th to 7th April, 2016.
All the participants assured their full cooperation and support for the successful organization of games on behalf of their respective ministries / departments / Governments.
The opening and closing ceremony will be organized in befitting manners. National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) will be associated during the opening and closing ceremony.
Spectators and audience from Schools, Colleges, Universities and General Public will participate in the opening / closing ceremonies of the games.
Mr. Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Federal Secretary M/o IPC, Mr. Amir Tariq Zaman, Additional Secretary M/o IPC, Mr. Khalid Mahmud Mirza, Joint Secretary (Sports) M/o IPC, Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General Pakistan Sports Board and Mr. Muhammad Azam Dar, Director Establishment and Coordination / Coordinator of the Games were also present in the meeting.
