3rd Inter-Board Sports Competitions

Islamabad: February 13, 2015: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board on 13th February, 2015 to review the arrangements of organization of Third Inter-Board Sports Competitions to be held on 15th to 22nd February, 2015 at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The chairman of various committees presented progress report and steps taken for the successful organization of the event.

Six officers have been nominated as focal persons of the games to facilitate the competitions. Their names are Rana Nasrullah (Athletic), Mr. Pervaiz Husain Mughal (Volleyball), Mr. Arshad Mehmood (Hockey), Mr. Mohsin Abbas (Taekwondo), Mr. Mahr Asmatullah (Badminton) and Mr. Mahr Bashir Ahmed (Table Tennis).

It is added that out of 30 Boards 25 Boards will participate for the top honors. 1060 boys & 700 girl’s players including team officials will take part in the games. The competition will be contested in Athletics (Boys & Girls), Badminton (Boys & Girls), Hockey (Boys & Girls), Volleyball (Boys & Girls), Taekwondo (Boys) and Table Tennis (Girls). Athletics competition will be organized in the following Male & Female disciplines:-

Male Events

100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M, 4x100 M, Discuss Throw, High Jump, Half Step & Jump, Javelin Throw, Long Jump and Shot Put

Male Events

100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 4x100 M, Discuss Throw, High Jump, Javelin Throw, Long Jump and Shot Put

Boys competitions will start from 15-18 February, 2015 whereas girl’s competitions will be organized from 20-22 February, 2015. The boarding, lodging and playing facilities will be provided to the student players in the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Cash prizes amounting to Rs.7000, Rs.5000 and Rs.3000 will be awarded to the winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals each discipline respectively by the Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad. The prizes will be a source of encouragement to the youngsters and help them to earn pocket money.
