Islamabad: 12 July, 2017: Mian Riaz Husain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Mr. Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary, IPC and Mr. Khial Zad Gull, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board have been very pleased to know the great victory achieved by the young cueist Mohammad Naseem Akhtar in the International Billiard & Snooker U-18 Snooker Championship in Beijing, China on Tuesday, 11th July, 2017. He defeated China’s Peifan Lei by 5-3 to grab the title. Naseem fought back remarkably from 1-3 down to post an incredible victory over his opponent. He has become the first Pakistani cueist to land the U-18 title. The Federal Minister congratulated him and said that “it is the journey you start today and you have a long way to go to win many hurdles. Many achievements and success are waiting for you to be begged, so keep your aim high and make a plan to fly”.
The Minister also congratulated the Pakistan Billiard & Snooker Association for their efforts to uplift the standard of this game.
Another good news in the Squash circuit is that, Huzaifa Ibrahim, Country’s Junior Squash player also won the 3rd CMS Borneo Junior Open Squash 2017 in Malaysia and grabbed the Gold medal. He defeated Australia’s Oscar Barry Curtisby 0-3 to win the title. The Minister hailed the win and hoped that he would prove to be the real asset for the country as our sports need young blood. The Minister congratulated the Pakistan Squash Federation for this great victory.
